I don’t know about you but sometimes I need a little encouragement. One of the ways I like to get this encouragement is through song. These songs are not only good for encouragement but are also great songs that help lift your mood no matter what is happening in your life. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. If you have any to add to my list, I would love to hear about them!
Way Maker – The Pentecostals of Alexandria
Throughout the Bible, you read of the many miracles of God. From creation to the resurrection, He shows His great power. So many times we forget that the God of the Bible is still the God of today. Hebrews 13: 8 says Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. The miracle-working God of the Bible is still alive today. This song is a great reminder that even when we don’t see it, don’t feel it, God is working for us.
Worth – Anthony Brown & group therAPy
This song is a great reminder of John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. It can be easy to let the Devil tell you that God doesn’t love you. The Devil loves to tell us that we have gone too far, done too much or too little but that is a lie. God died for you. He specifically thought about you. He loves you so much that He died on a cross so that you wouldn’t have to. God loves you.
Put A Praise On It (feat. Kearra Sheard) – Tasha Cobbs Leonard
Romans 8:31 says “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”. There are times in life that we need to remind ourselves that nothing is impossible with God. I like to listen to this song when I need a reminder that God is fighting my battles for me. When you think about that, how can you not praise Him? This song talks about claiming the miracle God has for you. When you think about all the unanswered prayers that are just waiting for God’s timing, how can you not praise Him?
God’s Got It – J Moss
This song is not only a wonderful reminder that God is in control but it is a very fun reminder of it. This song has a different feel from the other songs on the list but who says they have all the sound the same? I like to put this song on when I want to brag on God. I mean there is nothing He can’t do. He is in control. God’s got this. Whatever “this” is, He’s got the power to take care of it. All you have to do is ask. Matthew 7:7 says to “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”.
Praise Him In Advance – Marvin Sapp
Many times in the Bible God instructs His people to praise Him before they get their miracle. One example is in Joshua 6 with the Battle of Jericho. God told Joshua that the city of Jericho was his but first he had to follow God’s instructions and Praise Him. Sometimes in order to get a breakthrough, we have to first praise God for the breakthrough. This is a great song to help remind yourself that you don’t have to wait for your miracle to be thankful for it.
I do want to take time to mention one of my very favorite songs Intentional by Travis Greene. I did not include it in this list since I wrote a post solely dedicated to this song previously, click here to read it!
