Happy Friday everyone! We hope you’ve all had an amazing week so far! If you are anything like us now that the weekend is here, you are ready for an adventure! This week’s adventure for us is two parts. First, it is our first anniversary! YAY! We’ve made it a year without killing each other! Second, we just booked a last minute weekend trip to Damascus, VA! The best part about this is WE ARE STAYING IN A TINY HOUSE! Now, I do not think I could ever live in a tiny house full time, but I do think they are the perfect option for weekend trips! Especially for a place like Damascus where you get tons of tourist.
If you have been keeping up with our blog, you know that we’ve been to Damascus before. If you haven’t seen that post, you can check it out here. We talk about all the things we did during that trip. For this trip though, we may change things up a little. We don’t think that we will ride the Virginia Creeper Trail this time. It takes a few hours to complete and since we really only have Saturday to explore we don’t want to tie up that much of our time there. We want to use our time to explore some new areas that we have never seen.
We do still plan on going back to Grayson Highlands State Park. This is partly because of my love for animals. I mean, they have wild ponies. How can we not go? Also, when we went and when Justin and his mom went before, it had been extremely foggy. We are excited to go back and see what it looks like this time. Maybe it will be foggy, maybe it won’t. We will just have to see!
This trip was planned, booked, and will start all within 24hrs of considering taking a trip. Justin and I normally have our plans ready a month in advance. We like to have everything planned out way in advance and give ourselves plenty of time to prepare. But, we also like to be spontaneous and just up and go do something. We’ve only done something like this once before. We just up and decided to go to Chattanooga for the weekend. This was decided on a Friday and I had taken the day to pack everything up and find a place for us to stay. When Justin got off work, we were ready to hit the road!
If you are a planner like us, don’t be afraid to plan something super last minute. Trust in your planning skills to know what you need to get done. Not every adventure needs to have every minute planned. Some of the best ones are those that aren’t planned or don’t go exactly as planned. Since this trip was planned so last minute, I have a lot of things to get done before Justin gets home this afternoon. Be sure to check out our Youtube channel this weekend to stay up to date on our Anniversary Adventure. I have already started working on a video for the trip so be sure to check that out.
We are looking forward to our last minute anniversary adventure. Going back to Damascus for our first anniversary is perfect for us since this is where we took our first trip together to. If you have never been to Damascus, be sure to check it out! It is a wonderful town. Click here to check out their website. It is a small town so keep that in mind. Their main attractions are for outdoors activities. Which is great for us but if you are more of a city person, this may not be your thing.
Thank you so much for reading! We hope you’ve enjoyed this post! Hopefully, it has inspired you to allow yourself to be spontaneous and not allow it being last minute to keep you from taking an adventure. If you enjoyed this post, be sure to share it! You can also leave us a comment to let us know what you think. We’d also love to hear about your last minute adventures. Don’t forget to check us out on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube! Thank you again for reading and God Bless!
