Happy Monday everyone! We hope you’ve had a great weekend! I know we did! If you didn’t catch our last post, be sure to check it. In that post, I talk about what our plans for the weekend were. Don’t forget to check back with us later this week to hear how our trip went and our thoughts on it. Now that the weekend is over, it is time to tackle this week. If you are anything like us, after having a great day at church yesterday, Monday hits you hard. You have to go back to reality and it is not fun. Since that is the case, I have a few songs suggestions to help get you through the week. These songs are a great way to get yourself into the mindset needed to get through the week.

I’ve laid the songs out for you so that they kind of line up with this prayer. “God, fill me up so I can make it through this week. I know that I have no reason to fear this week. Fear is a liar. Satan, you need to watch out because my God fights for me.” So many times we get our touch on Sunday but the rest of the week is a battle. My hope for this post is that it helps you start your week off right. This song list is to help you keep that joy you found on Sunday active through your entire week.

Tasha Cobbs – Fill Me Up / Overflow

If you’ve been following this blog, you know that I love me some Tosha Cobb. It’s very likely that she is and will be in every post that lists songs. She’s got some amazing songs and is an amazing singer! Thank God for people like her who use their gifts to bring people to God. For people like her who use their gifts to bring glory to God.

This song is a prayer asking God to fill us up until His spirit is overflowing out of us. What better way to start your week than to ask God to continue that feeling we got on Sunday through your day today. Many times, our Monday leaves us feeling the total opposite of how our Sunday left us feeling. Use this song as your prayer to ask God to fill you once again. Ask Him to saturate you with His spirit. Once His spirit is overflowing into your Monday, you feel calm and at peace. Ready to take on your week.

Fear is a Liar – Zach Williams

Now that we have asked God to fill us up and overflow in our lives, Satan tries to creep back in. He stars to whisper lies to us. Lies like “you are worthless” “you can’t do anything right” “no one cares about you”. This song reminds us that those fears Satan tries to consume you with are lies. You are worth something. You are worth dying for. The lie of “you can’t do anything right” is completely squashed with Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” If we rely on God and trust in His word we have no reason to think we can’t do something. In Jeremiah 32:27 God reminds us “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Why would we believe the lie that no one cares for us when the Bible clearly tells us that God loves you so much that He was crucified so that you can have everlasting life?

My God Fights For Me – People & Songs feat Micah Tyler, Kaden Slay, Charity Gayle

Once we understand that all those negative thoughts are lies, we are able to confidently put Satan in his place. This song helps us remind Satan that God fights our battles, not us. When he tries to come against us, he is taking on the King of Kings. The Lord of Lords. The One who has already defeated hell and the grave. This song is our anthem. Sing this song at the top of your lungs and let Satan know who it is that he is taking on. We have no reason to fear him. Exodus 14:14 says “The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”. Do you hear that Satan? God fights for me. I’m just going to sit back and wait. God is taking care of all my worries and all my problems. God’s got them.
