Take a quick look around this site and you will learn that we really enjoy going on adventures. Many of these adventures turn into all day affairs. Sadly though with the busy lives that we all lead we do not always have time to dedicate an entire day to go on an adventure. Even though we definitely wish we could. This is where the mini adventure comes into play.
What is a mini adventure? If I had to define it I would have to say that a mini adventure would be a trip that takes no longer than four hours. A mini adventure would on average take about two hours. That may not sound like much time to have an adventure, but by going to somewhere close to home and spending time wisely you can have a great time.
The best thing about a mini adventure is that you can do almost any activity that you would do on a longer adventure. For instance, if you like hiking find a local park that offers some trails and goes out and explores for a few hours. Do you enjoy spending time on the water? Load up your kayak or other personal watercraft the night before and head out after work. The same could even be done if are a cyclist or mountain biker. If you are like my wife and like photography you can head to a new part of town and explore for a while.
A mini adventure really is a blank canvas. You have the option to make it whatever you want. The real purpose is to get out during the week or on a busy weekend and enjoy yourself. I have often heard people say that they used to really love a certain activity, but that they have not done it in a long time because life got in the way. I know personally that I do not want that to be me in a few years. Anyone has the ability to take a few hours out of the week do something they truly enjoy. Do not stop doing the activities that you enjoy, in the end, you will wish you had spent just a little more time doing those things.
I hope this post has inspired you to get out and take a mini adventure. To do that thing you used to do all, but just haven’t had the time.
