Does God Even Hear My Prayers?

Ever feel like your prayers don’t go any further than the ceiling? I know I have. There are some prayers I have been praying for almost 15 years that have not been answered yet. I will continue to pray these prayers though until they are answered. It can get hard and frustrating. You start to wonder why you’re even praying. Does it even matter?

1 John 5: 13-16: “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hearth us; And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”

These verses were brought up in church last night and it just stirred something in me. I want to put it up all over the house, in every room. I want to see them every day. They are a great reminder that God hears every single one of your prayers. He hears every request we bring to Him. Every fear, every worry, every hope, every dream. He hears them.

Now just because He hears our prayers, does not mean that He will always answer every one of them. Sometimes God’s answer is no, sometimes it is not now, and sometimes times it’s yes. No matter the answer though, He hears us. If we don’t get our prayers answered right away, we get worried that we aren’t important enough to be heard. If you are feeling like this, I suggest you put these verses up where you will see them frequently. Read them as a reminder that God hears every single one of your prayers.

No prayer of yours is too small or insignificant for God to not hear. You are important to Him. John 6:16 says “For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son”. If you weren’t important to Him, why would He have suffered and died for your sins? Remember this when you start to doubt.
