I don’t know about you, but there are times in my life where I am afraid. I fear that I am not good enough. Fear that I am worthless. I fear that I can’t do it. Whatever it is. No matter the cause of your fear, the answer to combat that fear can be found in the Bible. I like to look for Bible verses when I don’t have all the answers.

As Christians, we are supposed to turn to the Bible answers. I personally believe that since the Bible is the inspired word of God, that like Him, it never changes. The Bible is the same today, yesterday, and forever. By this, I mean that the Bible will always be applicable to every single generation. This book holds verses that have the answers to everything. All you have to do is search out the verses to find whatever it is you are looking for.

Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

This verse has to be one of my favorite verses. There are times in life that we feel all alone. We feel completely forgotten and forsaken. This verse addresses just that. It tells us that we don’t need to be afraid or dismayed thinking we are forgotten. We are told that the Lord will not leave us. What a great promise that is to us!

John 10:10 ESV

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

What a great reminder this verse is! When fear starts to creep in, we start to doubt in God. This verse reminds us that Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Therefore when life is tearing us down, we need to look to this verse and remember to turn to God. With Him, our lives can be more than we ever imagined. It may not be what we thought, but it is exactly what it was meant to be.

Isaiah 41:10 ESV

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Y’all. This verse. It lays it out so plainly for us. There are times in life that we feel so lost and helpless. This verse helps remind us that even though it seems like we are drowning in our own fears. God is with us. Sometimes that is all we need to squash that fear that is looming over us. Not only does this verse serve as a reminder us God is with us. It also reminds us that God will help us. He will strengthen us and uphold us in His hand.

Philippians 4:13 ESV

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

I think this verse pretty much says it all. When you are afraid, pull this verse up and let it be a reminder that there is nothing you can’t do. As Christians, we have God in us, therefore there is nothing we can’t accomplish. That is not to say we will be successful at everything though. I believe that if it is God’s will and we have enough faith, there is nothing we can’t do.

Jeremiah 29:11 ESV

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Seems like to me that this verse is trying to remind us that God’s got this. No matter what is going on, it’s in God’s hands. God is using this verse to remind us that when we are afraid of what the future holds, that it is going to be okay. He has plans for us. Plans for a future and a hope. Plans for a good life, not for evil. It is all going to be okay.
