Campfires, sleeping under the stars and waking up to the sounds of birds chirping. This is the dream I often have. A dream of finally taking that perfect camping trip. The trip I have always wanted to take. Well maybe I don’t actually dream about it, but I do think about it quite often. Sadly these over thought out dreams seldom workout. We even have a new HUGE tent that we have not even had the chance to use!
The weather has been the biggest breaker of my dreams. It seems like every time we are free to go camping this year, it rains. While we could go camping in the rain. Having not camped much, attempting this in the rain would not be a good start. Especially for my lovely wife, not that she couldn’t handle it. I just don’t think she would have the best time.
If it wasn’t the rain then it was the temperature. Before I continue I am not blaming my wife. I am merely saying she doesn’t enjoy the heat or freezing temperatures. I personally can deal with the heat or the cold. If it means I get to spend more time in nature. We have tried camping once in the summer. The temperature was in the mid-90s and LaBre did not have so much fun. She still claims that she did not sleep at all due to the excessive heat. I am not so certain about that but it is definitely not worth the argument. We did end up cutting our 2-day trip in half. We only stayed the first night and left the next day after a short hike.
I say all this to say that I only see one solution to the issues that we have encountered while trying to camp. We definitely need a camper. I mean think about it! It doesn’t always rain for the whole weekend so we can escape for a few hours or the night if needed. The camper would also have an air conditioner and a heater. So the heat and the cold would never be a problem again. Also, I can’t pass up the plus of having your own shower and minimal setup time. I have to imagine you agree. So if you do, help me out in the comments to convince LaBre that getting some type of camper is a must!
Note from the Editor (LaBre)
Of course, Justin would find a way to make this about convincing me to let him get a camper. Guys, we haven’t even used the 12 person tent I got him for his birthday last year! We can’t buy something else before at least trying this brand new tent out. If you agree, back me up in the comments! I need all the help I can get!
