Easter – Because God Loves You

Easter is just around the corner! Easter is one of those holidays that people always try to go to church for the simple fact that Easter is a reminder to them that God loves them. He loves them so much, that He died on a cross for their sins. The Bible says so in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son”. No matter what is going on in our lives, what we’ve gone through, Easter is a time where we are reminded of how special we are to God.

From the first song to the last “amen”, Easter is about just how much God loves each and every one of us. How He thought of you specifically when He took on the cross. So many times in our lives, we forget just how special we are to God. We get caught up in our own little world. We forget what is said in Jeremiah 1:5. “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee;…”. Easter is a time for us to stop and remember that.

It is easy to get caught up in ourselves and forget that God thinks of you specifically. That He thinks of your needs, of your worries, of your fears. We lose sight of how special we are to God and start to see ourselves as insignificant. I mean, who am I that God, who created the entire universe, would think of me. I’m nobody. This often becomes the inner dialog we have with ourselves. This is exactly what Satan wants us to think. Easter is a time to stop that dialog and change it to “I am a child of God.”

Verses in the Bible about being a Child of God:

Galatians 4:7 “Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God”.

John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name”.

Romans 8:14 “For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God”.

Galatians 3:26 “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus”.

These are just a few. There are many more verses reminding us that we are a child of The Almighty.

Romans 5:8 says “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”. We often forget that God can take care of MY problems. We know He can do it…. for someone else. Easter is a great reminder that Jesus loves you so much He’d do anything for you. He died on the cross for you. We are His children and He loves us. As Easter comes and goes, don’t let the devil make you forget just how special you are to God.
