Thanksgiving is just over a week away! Can you believe it? Seems like every year, it sneaks up on us. Now we are all rushing around trying to figure out what we need to buy to prepare Thanksgiving dinner. Whether it is the entire meal, or just a side that you’re taking, figuring out what to make can be hard. Especially when you work full time and have very little time to prepare. During this rush, many of us forget about our trusty crock pots. We end up using something store bought and feeling slightly disappointed in ourselves.

Well not this year! I’ve got some amazing recipes for you to try this Thanksgiving. All of which are made in your crock pot! This list features a main dish, one side, and a dessert. So whether you’re hosting Thanksgiving, or bringing a dish, we’ve got a recipe for you!

Brown Sugar and Pineapple Ham

This is probably one of my favorite things to make in the crock pot. It’s literally one of the easiest things to make and one of the most delicious! All this recipe requires is three ingredients. And which can be adjusted to almost any family size by selecting whatever size ham will feed your family. This particular recipe is for a small ham. So if you select a large one, I would add another can or two of pineapple and adjust your brown sugar according. Ensuring that your ham is thoroughly coated.

Ingredients:

1 sliced ham

1 can of pineapple (sliced or diced)

1.5 cups brown sugar

Instructions:

1. Place ham in your crock pot

2. Generously spread the brown sugar over the ham and in between the slices

3. Pour the pineapple juice over the ham adding the pineapple pieces between the slices and on top on the ham.

4. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours.

5. Enjoy!

Green Bean Casserole

The green bean casserole is a staple at almost every Thanksgiving. I personally cannot remember a Thanksgiving without a green bean casserole. Traditional this is baked in the oven but thanks to Crockpot, it’s now ever easier to make than before!

Ingredients:

(3) 10¾ ounce cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
½ Cup Milk
⅛ teaspoon Black Pepper
⅛ teaspoon Onion Powder
(10) 14.5 ounce Cans Del Monte Cut Green Beans (drained)
(2) 6 ounce canisters French’s French Fried Onions (note- one is mixed in, one is the topping)
Non-Stick Cooking Oil Spray

Instructions:

1.In a very large bowl, add the cream of mushrooms soup, milk, black pepper, and onion powder, whisk until smooth.
2. Add the drained green beans, and 1 of the canisters of french fried onions into the large bowl with the soup mixture you just made, and with a spatula, fold everything together, being careful not to break the green beans up.
3.Spray the slow cooker with the non-stick cooking spray, and add the green bean mixture to the slow cooker.

4.Cook on HIGH for 2.5 hours or LOW for 7 hours.

5. After cooking time is done, pre-heat your oven to 350.

6. Add the other canister of french fried onions onto the green beans. Take the slow cooker insert out of the heating element, and put into the oven (without the lid on!).

7. Cook for about 10 minutes, or until the onions are browned.
8. Set the insert back into the slow cooker heating element, replace the lid, and set the slow cooker to WARM until ready to serve.

9.Enjoy!

Pumpkin Dump Cake

Thanksgiving isn’t complete without a dessert! This delicious treat is a new take on the traditional pumpkin dessert. Not only that but it is easily made in your crock pot so unlike most desserts, you aren’t slaving over it for hours and hours.

Ingredients:

1 cup white sugar
2 (15 oz) cans pumpkin puree
1 Tbsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp salt
1 (18.25 oz) white or yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter
Cinnamon

Instructions:

1.  In the bottom of your crock pot, combine the sugar, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice and salt.
2.  In a separate bowl, combine the cake mix and butter.  Use a fork to cut the butter into the cake mix until butter is pea sized and cake mix is crumbly.  Sprinkle the cake mix on top of the pumpkin puree.
3.  Sprinkle the cinnamon on top of the cake mix.
4.  Place a double layer of paper towels on top of your crock pot.  Place the lid over the paper towels and make sure it is secure. The paper towels will prevent condensation from dripping onto the cake.

5. Cook on LOW for 3-4 hours or on HIGH for 90 minutes-2 hours.

6. Remove the lid and turn to warm.  Let sit on warm for 20-30 minutes and then serve with vanilla ice cream.
