Happy October everyone! I hope you’re all as excited for Fall as we are! Fall is the season of pumpkin spice and everything nice! During Fall you get to pull out all your cozy sweaters to ward off the crisp air. It is a time for hot cocoa, roasted marshmallows, and bonfires. Now that fall is officially here, it is time to start enjoying all the wonderful things you only get to do in the Fall!

Corn Maze

Corn Mazes are an all time favorite of ours. This is something that we look forward to every fall. Whether you love the normal corn mazes or prefer the haunted version. There is something for everyone to enjoy! If you are in our area, be sure to check out our favor mazes. Maple Lane Farms hosts one of our favorite mazes, check it out here.  Another favorite of ours is actually brought to us by a lovely family in our church, the Hydes. Hyde Farms not only offers an amazing corn maze. They also offer a variety of product all year long, based off what is in-season that is since they do grow everything on the farm. Check them out here.

Carve Pumpkins

This has to be one of everyone’s favorite things about Fall. I know it is one of mine. Whether you stick to the traditional version and actually carve your pumpkins or you opt for painting or other ways to decorate your pumpkin, there is something for everyone! Carving pumpkins has grown so much since I was a child. Now there is no limit to what you can create from a few pumpkins.

Enjoy the Fall Leaves

Any way you decide to enjoy the fall leaves is a great way. You can enjoy them by appreciating their beauty on your commute. Or you can go for a special drive through the mountains. You can even enjoy them by scheduling a photo shoot with your favorite photographer!  If you aren’t able to pay for a professional, you can also go out with your friends and take pictures for each other as we did!

Trunk or Treating

Personally, I grew up trick or treating like a lot of other kids. Today now though Trunk or Treating is THE way to do it. No longer do you have to go from neighborhood to neighborhood in search of candy. Now, you visit just about any church and find not only all the candy your heart desires but also tons of other amazing activities. I’ve not been to many different Trunk or Treats, just the one my church puts on. So that may not be the same for all Trunk or Treat events. If you are interested in attending ours, be sure to come by on October 31 at 7:30 pm.

Great Pumpkin Luminights

This is a new thing that Dollywood started last year. Due to just how popular it was, they have decided to bring it back this year and extended it. Sadly due to our hectic fall schedule last year we missed it. I am going to do everything in my power to make sure we go this year though. If you’ve not heard of The Great Pumpkin Luminights, be sure to head over to Dollywood’s website and check it out! With thousands of carved and illuminated jack-o-lanterns, this means a world of fun for everyone! This is the largest addition ever made to Dollywood’s fall festival, featuring artistic sculptures, whimsical scenes, and delightful, family-friendly fun throughout Timber Canyon.
