Most movies these days are full of nothing but sex, drugs, and cuss words. Personally, I have a hard time watching movies that involve those things. As a Christian, I want to be sure what I am exposing myself to does not hinder my walk with God. Everything we see and hear gets imprinted in our mind. Which is why we need to be careful of what we allow to influence us.
This being the case it can be hard to find a movie that isn’t full of vulgar things. The following movies are all some of my favorites. They are all clean movies that not only have a great storyline but they also are great family-friendly movies. Ones that you can watch with the entire family and not have to worry about what is going to be on the screen.
War Room
This is about a couple who seem to have it all, great jobs, a beautiful daughter, and their dream home. But in reality, their marriage is a war zone and their daughter ends up as collateral damage. With the guidance of an older, wiser woman, Elizabeth discovers she needs to start fighting for her family instead of against them. As the power of prayer and her newly energized faith transform her life, will her husband join the fight and become the man he knows he needs to be? To find out be sure to watch this great movie. I am sure that you will find it as inspiring as my husband and I did.
Fireproof
The marriage of Caleb and Catherine Holt is in crisis so they decide to file for divorce. However, Caleb’s father suggests to his son that he delay their separation process for forty days and follow a procedure called “The Love Dare” to make them fall in love with each other again. If you are interested, “The Love Dare” book is available for you to purchase. If you are looking for a way to strengthen your marriage, be sure to check it out!
The Blind Side
Based on a true story. Michael has no idea who his father is and his mother is a drug addict. He has had little formal education and very few skills to help him learn. Leigh Anne takes charge, however, ensuring that the young man has every opportunity to succeed. When Michael expresses an interest in football, she goes all out to help him. They not only provide him with a loving home but also hire a tutor to help him improve his grades to so that he could qualify for an NCAA Division I athletic scholarship. This movie inspires you to see past the surface and try to see people for more than the circumstances they are born into.
Courageous
As officers of the law, they face danger every day. Yet when tragedy strikes close to home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, fears, and faith. From this struggle will come a decision that will change all of their lives. With action, drama, and humor, this movie embraces God’s promise to “turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers.” Souls will be stirred, and hearts will be challenged to be courageous! In this movie, you see people face some very real challenges. It helps you see how to face these situations and be courageous!
I hope you check out these movies if you have not seen them before. I am sure that they will open your eyes to something you may not have seen before.
